ID.me Authenticator is a reliable and complimentary multi-factor authentication (MFA) solution developed to enhance the security of your ID.me account.
With ID.me Authenticator, you can generate secure 2-step verification tokens on your device, including time-based one-time passwords (TOTP), push notifications, or mobile security keys. These authentication methods provide an additional layer of security to verify your identity.
During the login process, after entering your password, you will be prompted to provide further proof of your identity. You can either approve the notification sent to the ID.me Authenticator by tapping 'Yes' to confirm it is indeed you (push notification), or enter the verification code generated by the app (TOTP).
